The seaweed pancakes or seaweed zeppolelle as we call them here in Naples are an appetizer that never fails at Christmas at my house. The hardest part of the recipe is finding some fresh seaweed, but if you have a trusted fishmonger, it won't be difficult for you to find them and taste these fantastic sea zeppolelle;) So friends, I moved, the papers on my desk are decreasing, the commitments made are going to come to an end and the Christmas gifts are almost over;) These months have been very intense, but now I am starting to feel more relieved, now I would just like to take a break and then start again with new projects for 2015. How to make seaweed pancakes
Prepare the batter by putting the flour in a bowl, make a hole in the center, pour the water with the dissolved yeast inside.
Start kneading then add the salt.
Knead until you get a smooth batter, then cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour.
Now add the washed, dried and chopped algae.
Mix the seaweed well with the batter.
Spoon the mixture into the boiling oil and fry for a couple of minutes.
When the seaweed pancakes are golden, lift them with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with absorbent paper.
Serve the hot seaweed donuts.
